Research methodology

As a UX designer, my role within The Globe and Mail's Education Department involved addressing the challenge of effectively communicating our value proposition to a diverse audience of students and educators nationwide. To facilitate this process, I initiated a remote Design Sprint with the support of Spotify's Remote Design Sprint template.

Brand guidelines

Using the existing brand guidelines, I created the UI kit for the build. I created custom icons, buttons, and imagery. Once components were created in Figma, I was able to export the assets and start coding the front-end.

Final responsive design

The final design was a labour of love, working amongst different departments and going through many iterations before launch. The final product was a fully custom coded microsite that engages its audience and provides useful information for our users, Students and Educators. While emphasizing universal accessibility with semantic, clean code.

Overall, this was a fun and interactive way to get practical experience at Canada's Leading Newspaper. I plan to use this process in my work going forward and hope to influence how other people view and approach complex problems.

BMW interactive & responsive canvas ad unit

BMW needed to advertise their new M8 series with an interactive and responsive canvas ad unit. This unit showcases both the M8 coupe and M8 cabriolet, on all devices. I was the lead designer on this project. I worked closely with the client to ensure fast load times, while meeting design specs. I successfully completed this project on time and under budget, resulting in high traffic activity and clicks. The client was very happy with the final outcomes.

Lead Designer on the Cartier Globe Super Hero advertising unit, "Shop the Perfect Gift" Christmas Campaign. Provided multiple responsive formats with fast loading video features and shopping CTA, turning users into buyers.

Lexus hybrid-electric custom coded article

Lead Designer / Developer on this custom coded article (sponsored content) for Lexus Hybrid-electric vehicles. Final responsive design was hard coded using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Bootstrap4. The final outcome was a high impact visual article which harnessed the power of rich media in order to stand out from the crowd. This was a highly successful campaign which generated substantial revenue for the client through high impressions and clicks.
